The Return Of The Jedi (MSP)

Guess Who's Back!! Back Again.... hehe!!

Alright now, its been a long time! And if you're wondering what i've been doing all this time? or why i'd stopped posting? KEEP WONDERING... [;)]

So first things first... i am an MSP now (ummm.. whats that??). And it says there that one of my responsibilities among the lot is to maintain a blog.. so i contemplated creating a new one (its free after all), but then thought why not continue with this Skein Biogenesis.

So now you can expect reading a bit less of random thoughts and happenings here and i'd rather let this bit of webspace take a more informative turn (yea, movies count as informative). Also, through this space now you'll get all the news about new developments and researches microsoft's coming up with (their beta versions too), and you are free to comment, criticise, praise, acknowledge or just show ur unresponsive, unaffected behaviour towards them!

So here's to a new beggining.. a new start.. Cheers!!!

Yeh hai Dilli meri jaan!

Ok, here's something interesting i found and thought would share it... Its about our very own city DELHI.... its hardly 2 years in delhi and i feel like a true blue delhite.. now places like NFC, CP, and other concepts that only a delhite could understand aren't foreign to me anymore. :)

"Many many years ago someone named all of Delhi’s ‘Clonies.’ At that time I’m sure that all the names were very accurate and well thought of. However over time things have changed and now the situation on the ground is very different. See if you recognize these colonies.

UnGreen Park is where it’s almost impossible to find anything green, the whole colony is virtually stone and concrete. While at Uday No Park, you just can’t find a place to park your car… careful don’t park there, someone may shoot you. Then there is that lovely colony where so
many retired people live, they all have gentle stomachs that poke out, yup it’s Paunchsheel Park.

How about that colony where there are so many foreigners that the Pan Shops accept foreign currency, welcome to Dollar Vihar. The poorer foreigners however get straight off the train and head for Ferung Gunj, where you can get bed and breakfast for 10 dollars.

In Alligator
Kailash II, where there are millionaires lurking behind every bush, tree and stream with just their eyes poking out from their 15 foot fences, like stalking alligators. This is the newer money of course. The old money is in Crore Bagh, where they played Kaun Benega Crorepati forty years back, and all the millionaires hide in middle class houses.

Near my colony is Chitto and Ronjon’s Park where you can get bherry good pheesh and find Chatterjee, Bannerjee and Mukherjee building up enargy.
Moving to Lutyen’s Delhi there is Cannotplace where you cannot even place a cy
cle because it is so crowded. Near that is Got Links, a colony where everyone has links. And it seems, BMWs.
Then there was this quiet nice little colony which had a nice cinema hall but we will have to rename it Sankat because they are building 5 malls there and messing up everything.
Despite being the largest colony in Asia there is Lonely Kunj, which seems very far removed from Delhi. On the other hand RKRKRK Puram is the largest government colony in Asia so it has to be officially
spelt in triplicate.

Which brings us to our two famous Satellites. There is GarbarGaon where- from water, to roads, to electricity there’s big trouble. And there is the wild west – where the fastest guns survive… Nevada. "

Well, as for me i live in FARIDABAD... where its all mud, all dirt, potholes are as big as craters on the moon! dont't get me started on faridabad please!!!!!!

More Than Paranthas

hmmm!!!

That's a Murg Methi Malai, a chicken tikka parantha and a chicken tikka methi parantha.. onions, green chutney... and thats about it!! a hearty meal! a satisfying meal... a heavy meal!!

More than paranthas!! thats the name of the place... well it didn't really live upto its name this time around.. the paranthas were decent and nothing special... the chicken was quite good, not exactly upto my taste buds, but thats just because my taste buds are habitual to the spicy and very oily butter chicken stuff.. this one was different, this was creamy, rich and filled with dry fruits of which am not really fond of!

After the VERY HEAVY meal, theres booze waiting for us.... and yea.. all this is when we have our WD sessional tomorrow... sessionals are like a party this time around... you go for the college for a few hours and the rest of the day is like a bunk! Party away in the evening and laze around in the morning... and its time for the exam...lets move!! haha!!

Right now, we're full, we are intoxicated with all the chicken we've eaten and theres still the beer bottles in the freezer!! its gonna be a short day tomorrow!! hopefully i'l wake up before the exam! CHEERS!!

Warranty Extended!!

So, Finally it feels as if I've won a case in the court or something...
The Dell Issue finally got resolved!

Received a mail from an executive of theirs confirming that my lappy's warranty had been extended, however they could not do anything about the other freebies that my salesperson had promised me, namely the optical mouse and the accessory kit. Initially i was skeptic about the warranty, had speculated that the Dell folks would crib about the warranty but would easily give away the mouse and kit.. it turned out to be the other way around though, and no one's complaining![:D]

This is what i received from the Dell executive... a screenshot of what the dell database might look like... It contains everything, right from my name, to my address, to my order date to the date the lappy was delivered!! :)

Internet goes 3-D

Now here's something interesting, How about 3-D websites??? yeah yeah i know there are 3-d websites, but those are like just a single website which might have 3-d functionality... how about a tool which could convert any website on your browser into 3-D?? That would be way cool, it could change the way internet works!!

Just to illustrate.. i quote..
"Browsers can use the tool to turn their social networking pages on sites such as Facebook and MySpace into a virtual apartment, where photographs are displayed on the wall and links to friends are "doors" leading to other apartments. Users can customise their flats by "decorating" with 3D versions of couches from stores such as Ikea or downloading an e-jukebox to play music clips stored on their personal page."

So you go on like.."i'll visit my friends apartment online today..".... "hey check out the new couch i bought for my apartment".... way cool!!

Check out the whole story here.

Winters Approaching

Its a turn of events, its a turn of the weather, and both have been for the good! Life's getting on the smoother road... i hope it is!

The main thing to be discussed at the moment is the weather... Its been awefully nice!! its been chilly!! the fans are off, the sheets are out! The sun hasn't shown for two days now, and that's what i like... Funny, how all other people seem to yearn for the sun to shine and I'm like praying... no no no, let it be like this, let it be cloudy, let it be overcast! I should've been born in England ;).

OK, so lets see... its sessionals from monday, currently I'm not prepared with anything.. its gonna be a long day tomorrow. Will have to spend the night with "Analysis and Design of Algorithms"... man. this is torture!

Meanwhile, news pours in that there's been a blast in Pakistan now... wtf man... Terrorists are like infiltrating everywhere... folks at home tell me how Chandigarh is on high alert and its traffic jams everywhere... the country is in a sensitive situation right now... When will the "War On Terrorism" end??
For the time being, i enjoy the weather... will get some algorithms done with tonight and looking forward to a heavy breakfast tomorrow!! :D

Monday Blues

There are times when everything goes bad, everyone starts behaving like everyone else, and you just don't like it! Everything just, burns up inside u, it piles up, n just a spark can make it blast. But u gotta learn how to bring it down n just not make it public, because then it just gets worse!!

Aint no sunshine when "he's" gone

Aint no sunshine when she's gone
Its not warm when she's away
Aint no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just aint no home
Anytime she goes away

Thats the original soundtrack from Notting Hill, and thats the similar situation me and my roomie, Harry are in at the moment... just a teeny weeny difference is that instead of a "she" its a "he", hold on to your horses everyone... nothing of the sorts you people think at the moment, we both are totally and completely straight!! Its just that "The Gorav" is too fun a guy not to miss!

So lets see, he went away yesterday, and we haven't had a hearty laugh since! Its been a normal day for a change without him. We had nothing to do in college, we had nothing to do after college.. we came, we slept and it was so boring without our neighbour!! Had nothing to do. Dinner, which is usually at Gorav's place amidst loud roars of laughter, was subdued today, even the food wasnt good!

Tomorrow's gonna be a hectic and compromising day, timings have to be perfect for everything to go in order. And most probably Gorav will be back day after!![:)] till then its no sunshine, errr... loads of sunshine though... its bloody hot!! hot as hell!!! where are the rain gods?? when is winter gonna come??????? we're baked in this room!! cant take it no more!

Its All About The Bike

Here's another stress buster i discovered today!! Washing my bike!!

Its been an irritating day to say the least, feeling all screwed up, didn't even wanna come back to the room, once even contemplated going to chandigarh on the bike....eventually did come back after an hour or so, since i had nothing better to do than sit in the sun, anyways no more about the day.

So parked my bike at gaurav's place, the bike hadnt been washed or pampered in anyway for the past couple of months. There, i saw a tap and a hose, and i was into the washing after that, my bike must be a couple of kilograms lighter now, for all the faridabad dirt and mud and scum is off my bike now!!
The main thing, its a channel to release all your frustration, anger, desperation, everything you feel!! Seeing the loads of mud come off, its as if cleansing my own emotions!!

The bike is shiny shiny now, but wont be the same in a couple of days, all this faridabad dirt is so irritating. Plus faridabad roads aren't all that good for the suspension even. Looking forward to that bike service due at the end of the month!

P.S. i don wanna go to coll today!!!! [:((]

Its Raining

aaaaahhh!!! yippppeeeee!!!

Its raining!!!!! sitting in the room, facing the window, and the cool spray is like a heavenly experience, 3-4 days of baking in the sun, excessive humidity and its a relief storm!!! and its pouring at the moment!!!!!

its just very goody goody at the moment!! :)

must get myself a thought meter!!

Rock On!!

ROCKED!! oh yess sirr ree!!! we surely were rocked!!!
Managed to reach the cinema hall in the nick of time, sat down after a bit of confusion and the "concert" began!!

Rock on!! is not a movie, its a concert!! especially the first half and the closing bit!! its awesome, its brilliant and has a charged up feel to it! You can see the relation with dil chahta hai, the story begins with almost the same setting, four friends and two clashing egos (ego would be a harsh word though). So Rock On!! to me was DCH + Jhankaar beats, in a very different and original style. The jhankaar beats touch is at the end as the going band member joins up with the rest of the band and together they put up one rocking and winning performance! it was pure "Magik"!

The performances are good, Farhan Akhtar didn't seem out of place on screen, and the best part were the songs, from "Socha hai" to "Sindbad the sailor" to "pichle saat dinon" we were shouting and woooiing on every song!! Not to forget the ballad "Tum ho to"... its stuck in my head! Kudos to Shankar Ehsaan Loy!!!

All in all, a great watch... must must see! We had a lot of fun for sure!!! Rock On ROX!! \_/

Email to Mr. Michael Dell

From: Ankur Gupta
Sent: Saturday, August 16, 2008 5:24 AM

Subject: is this the "Award Winning" customer support?

Mr Dell,
I don't know your email address, its just my wild guess that it might be
one of those that am sending on the list.

I ordered an XPS notebook on 7th july, which was delivered to me on the

14th of july (in INDIA). The salesperson had promised me of a
complimentary optical mouse, an accessory kit of some sort and an
upgradation on insurance of which i don't know the details. However, he
was clever enough to not add these in the quotation and had me convinced
verbally. I feel cheated by Dell as the freebies did influence my
decision ultimately in going against a Sony VAIO notebook. I reported
the matter to the Wrong, missing and damaged department but they said i
should contact the salesperson who took my order, to whom I've been
sending emails constantly, without any replies. Finally, my complaint
was recorded(Care Case No:1136570) and an enquiry was done, but the
enquiry solely depended on the sales person's word..to which he bluntly
refused, does the customer's word count for nothing???!!
Surely I'll be thinking more than twice if i were ever to recommend or
order anything from dell again. I did not expect this from an "award
winning" customer support as u say!!

i do not now expect any reply, or help or guidance of any sort! just

wanted my grievance to be heard by someone, and surely I'll be copying
and pasting all the above in as many forums as i possibly can!

Regards,
Ankur Gupta

that's what i had written, completely irritated with the dell guys... check out the send to list.. i made up all possible combinations that Michael Dell could have as his email id, and it clicked! Here's the reply i got.. i think the people at dell's office diverted the mail to their India office..because i got the reply from an Indian executive.

Dear Mr. Gupta,
Thank you for writing to Dell.

At the outset we at Customer Care would like to thank you for your
patience, and extremely apologetic for the inconvenience caused.

This is with reference to your below mail regarding the insurance and
accessory kit. I would like to confirm that the one year complete cover
(accidental damages) insurance is already included in the quote and the
accessories kit includes the ear buds, remote control and built-in
webcam.

Please feel free to contact me for any clarifications.

Thanks & Regards,

Dell India Pvt Ltd

this really pisses me off and I'm gonna write another mail back!! am not letting them go!!! even if i have to send a 100 emails!!!!! Mr. Michael Dell, beware of an email bomb!

P.S. just for the record, i have absolutely no qualms about my lappy!! totally and completely satisfied with it!! and also with the customer support for the product! just beware of being taken for a ride with the freebies they mention, and have them put whatever they mention in writing!

SSllllluuuuuuuurrrppppp

I've had 3 ice candies in the last 24 hours!! Want something refreshing, cooling, and more importantly.. cheap? well, ice cndies are the way to go. Moreover, its the best stress buster there is, apart from chocolate ofcourse.. next time when your brain is all full, and tensions are high, just get yourself an ice candy and strat licking on it, you'll forget everything just sucking on it and concentrating on making it stay put and not letting it melt! And they are brightly coloured.. reds n orange n yellows.... plus nice nice flavours, newest addition i've heard of is jal jeera...

So i've tried Amul, Kwality Walls and Mother dairy.. Taking into account the ice density, the melting temperature (longer it holds), the ease of slurping, the size, the shape, the colour (brighter the better) and of course the flavour too (doesnt matter a lot though, all are the same)... i rate them as follows.

First comes Mother dairy's Orange flavoured lolly!! it held longer, the ice waas dense and didnt melt very fast! Second is Kwality Walls, it was brighter..tastier.. and the ice was slurpier [;)]... Last among those that i have tried comes Amul,.. but its an ice candy after all!! so no complaints!! plus its just 5 bucks!!! damn, i want another one now!!!

Here's some cool info before signing off...

The first recorded ice pop was created in 1905 by 11-year-old Frank Epperson in San Francisco, who left a glass of soda water powder and water outside in his back porch with a wooden mixing stick in it. That night the temperature dropped below freezing, and when Epperson returned to the drink the next morning, he found that the soda water had frozen inside the glass, and that by running it under hot water, he was able to remove (and eat) the frozen soda water chunk using the stick as a handle.

The ice-lollipop was introduced to the public for the first time at an Oakland ball for firemen in 1922. In 1923, Epperson applied for a patent for "frozen ice on a stick" called the Epsicle ice pop, which he renamed the Popsicle, allegedly at the instigation of his children. This brand is now one of the most famous in the United States.

Bhook lagi hai khaana do!!

So its been food on my mind for quite a while now.. the tiffin that we get at night is totally ram bharose... it might be good, it might be bad... it might be something u like that is cooked disastrously or it might be something u don't like cooked very well! All in all... you eat what you get and you like it when you are hungry!!
So here goes something to get your taste buds watering, check out your region and see the speciality! Add up something if you want!!

WiFi Hotspot

Finally!! Broadband! our room is finally a WiFi hotspot!!

The day was terrible, got a Punjab Roadways bus to delhi, after 5 hours of bumps n grinds..we get off at ISBT, walk a long way to McD's... the luggage was killing us!! next time around, i'm travelling light! some feeding done at McD's n we're off again with no idea of where to catch a Faridabad bound bus.. We walk all over inside ISBT, just to get to know that busses for faridabad will be available from across the road.. thank god there was a foot over bridge and god bless sheila dixit for installing escalators on them! so across the road, and we are standing like dumbheads, theres a bus for faridabad 50 mtrs away from us and we dont realise it.. finally we get to board a blueline to badarpur border. Dont even ask about the next 1 and a half hour.. it was terrible, it was exhausting, my luggage bag gave way and i had to carry it in both arms, we walked from badhkal flyover to our place, that must be a good 1 km, and with all the luggage thats saying something!! Thank god for the honda city guy who gave us a lift over the badhkal flyover, or surely we wouldnt have made it!
Completely exhausted and we enter our totally messed up room, dump the luggage and flat on our beds.. then its another hour of bathing, cleaning up n tidying everything in the room (mind you, we did a very good job.. the room looks so clean n fabulous now)... we lie down to rest, just 15 mins and theres an airtel guy on the door!!! We welcome him in and treat him like a demi god!! Finally after all those troubles and calls to the customer care centres!! half an hour of setting up everything and we are good to go!!!!!

This is my very first post through my new airtel wifi connection!! the speed is superb, 256 kbps really means 256 kbps! happy happy!! lappy n broadband, finally a reunioin!!!! after all the troubles throughout the day, the airtel guy put everything right and its a happy ending to the day!!

Life's a "Contract"

life's fucked up!!! everyone's fake!! everyone says they're "frnds", no one is!!! life is a "contract"!!!

next time u think abt others, next time u think abt making others feel comfortable wid ur personal life...next time u go out of the way to do things for others.... well theres no bigger asshole than u, n u wont be left to make it another next time!

its just u n the world, life is a war, there are no allies... everyone's just waiting for u to bend down so that they can kick ur ass over n over again! Baz luhrmann doesnt know a thing about todays world... he says.."remember compliments u receive, frget the insults".... well, wat all are the compliments n wat are the insults?? is everythin comin from a "frnd" a compliment??

hmmm... going back to delhi tomoro, harry, gaurav n aki are the only ppl i am longing to meet....as fr the rest, everyones a fake..... its 12 in the night, gotta wake up at 5 n catch a bus at 6! i really hope the bus crashes, the "contract" ends!! signing off before i break the keyboard with my harsh key strokes!! gnite everyone! fuck u all! i don give a damn wat u feel or think about me!

Living out, Two weeks in faridabad

Two weeks in Faridabad! Two weeks of a true bachelor life, two weeks of household chores (usually done with a lot of cribbing)... TWO WEEKS OF FREEDOM!

So, finally i shift base to a rented room in faridabad.. along with harry, my roomie. Both frustrated with living with grandparents, both yearning for bachelorhood, both wanting freedom in the true sense and both wanting a 24 X 7 net connection.. umm... the last thing is the first of the problems we've faced in the town.. the airtel services are at par with BSNL's... 2 weeks on and we're still waiting to be able to go online at our room!

First day in and we settle down, not having any idea of what we'd be requiring or wanting for the days to come. First morning and we realise there's no mirror in the house (not even a glossy reflecting surface), and harry has to tie his turban. So being in the tech age that we are, we innovate. What better use to put the 2mp webcam to than using it as a real time mirror!

After a fortnight, we've kinda settled down. We've fallen into a routine and have a list made out of all the required things..Namely, a mirror, an electric kettle or cooker(to get warm water to gorge on those MTR's ready to eat meals), an almirah (to dump our stuff into and get rid of all the mess scattered everywhere). There's a customary visit to the local departmental store everyday for the stuff required, initially the list consisted of brooms and mops and dish washing liquids and scrubs and detergents and stuff..
Talking of detergents!! Damn, washing clothes is one hell of a job!! i followed the instructions as it is on the back of the pack and ended up all messy and it took me more than an hour to get a few clothes washed (it was the first time in my life that i washed clothes). Plus washing clothes is one problem, there's another tension of letting them dry, the weather hasn't been the best to dry clothes you know!!

Ok, so now we have an unofficial algo to shop at the deptt store, the first stop is the biscuits counter. then we're off browsing stuff... looking at the corner with all those cold drinks and squashes and iced teas longingly.. we manage to extract ourselves from that corner without putting anything in the cart! Then its the milk products, with cheese and breads for breakfast, we're still trying out different cereals and will finally decide on one. Stuff here and stuff there and that's our shopping for the day!

yea, we've finally stuck to a mess guy for delivering dinner to our place. The dominos people now know our house very well, two weeks and two deliveries.. we're still trying our luck to get a free pizza!

Living out on your own has a lot of pros, but only if you can handle the daily chores and routines well!! we're still in beta phase and testing out! will get into a groove very soon!

Riders On the Storm!! part 3

Hanging by a wire.. that's what it was, while coming from Chandigarh to Delhi... 4 o'clock early morning.. all prepared for the 257 km bike ride.. all geared up, petrol tank filled, tires checked, air pressure optimum..all the routine oil n lubrication tests.. and I'm off.. hardly 5 km away.. n whamm... i hear a noise below, i press down on the break peddle.. and i fiddle with the gear lever to lower down a few gears.. only problem is, i cant feel the gear peddle under my foot.. finally i stop and see whats wrong, and what i see is the gear lever dangling down from the bike! The bike still in top gear, smack in the center of the road.. i start the bike and manage to get it going in 5th gear and reach the edge of the road. Further inspection reveals that one of the two main bolts which kept the gear system clamped to the chassis had given way... now what do i do, at around 4:20 in the morning... its not even dawn yet! forget about a mechanic or something. and to make matters worst, i have to reach college to get my registration done. OK, so i finally extract a wire of sorts from somewhere and put it in place of the bolt, twisting it several times and securing the gear peddle to the chassis. its a temporary setup and it might give way any moment.

Tentatively i get started again, by this time its 5:05 and its almost day, after a few kms i get the hang of the new gingerly secured gear system and confidently ride on towards my destination, not even stopping on any of the petrol pumps on the way to get the thing fixed.

The weather was perfect!! Overcast and no rain.. the road was smooth, the highway was as usual sparse.. overtaking cars, trucks n others.. headphones blaring.. i was enjoying the moment.. reaching speeds of about 110-120 kmph, on an average the pointer hovered between the 90-100kmph mark.. stopping once on the way, a 15 min break and off again!!
if u take out the stoppage n make shift repair time it took me 4:15 mins!! and it was exhilarating!! exciting, enduring, adventurous and satisfying!!

Hello (One night @ call centre, the movie)

The Preview looks amazing, though I would have really liked it if someone other than Atul Agnihotri had decided to make this into a movie. The book deserved more, but anyhow, atleast its turned up in a movie..that itself is a big enough treat! I'm really eager to see how it turns out, hope they dont make any big changes in the plot and stick to the characters as potrayed in the book! Still better would it have been, if the movie had been made in english.. ok now we know that a totally english might not go well with the public but look at "Black", the movie was 80% english... anyways... coming back to the movie..it features Sharman Joshi as the protagnist Shyam. Sohail Khan plays the cool motorbike guy Vroom. Gul Panag portrays Priyanka (ewww, couldnt they fine anyone else??) and Esha is played by Isha Koppikar.

Theres a surprise appearence by Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. With Salman playing Chetan Bhagat, the author and Katrina the youn beautiful girl Chetan meets in the train in the opening scene. Waiting to watch the movie, hope they do the book justice.

The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor

"The blockbuster global "Mummy" franchise takes a spellbinding turn as the action shifts to Asia for the next chapter in the adventure series, "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor." Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O'Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O'Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.

Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have lain forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O'Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents.

As the monarch roars back to life, our heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia. Striding the Far East with unimaginable supernatural powers, the Emperor Mummy will rouse his legion as an unstoppable, otherworldly force...unless the O'Connells can stop him first."

Now, i really cant wait for this one to come... Brendan Fraser is so cool and this time we have Jet Li too... plus a whole new script...enough of that imotep freak...he was gettin comic now!!

Third Biggest Defeat for India

There they go.... ever heard a test match ending up in literally just over 2 days of aggregate play??? Whooo... an innings and more than 200 runs, that's what team India lost by, with its fabled batting lineup including the likes of sehwag, saurav, sachin, dravid and laxman. The same pitch where our spinners, namely our captain Anil Kumble and the bad boy of Indian cricket Harbhajan Singh, were struggling to take even a single wicket... the very same pitch proved to be the falling ground for twenty of our wickets in less that 2 days, and guess what... out of the 20 Indian wickets that fell, 19 were shared among the Sri Lankan spinners Muralitharan and Mendis.

The more the hype that's been gathering around Indian cricket... the more uncaring I've started being to the results. There's just a small little reason that still keeps me in touch with cricket and that's Sachin Tendulkar... the guy has devoted more that half his life to the Indian team..not just scoring runs, but well and truly aiding the team in any way required. The man is a legend, greatest batsmen alive... and all the more humble and with a sense of humility.
Unlike our young brigade that is to follow and be the caretaker of cricket in the country, the likes of Yuvraj, Dhoni, Uthappa and all.... these guys play for fame, they play for money. And all the while when they are not playing, they can be found at the most happening night spots or endorsing another brand or maybe walking the ramp for a buddy designer. They come up with the most outrageous of haircuts (did u see what uthappa was sporting lately?), and frankly speaking they just cannot handle the fame and money that's all of a sudden come their way and in the process they go overboard with everything and link themselves with things that aren't even distantly related to cricket!! Look at what happened to uthappa after the 20-20 world cup, can u remember any innings where he made a significant contribution? And am i the only one who feels that dhoni just plays in order to please the critics, just spending time at the crease working the ball around, without a thought to the run rate required, and when its time to fire.. he conveniently gets out trying for a big hit... no but as everyone says, he set it up, he played his part(crap!!).

The future as i see it only remains in 20-20 and the highly successful moolah grosser, IPL! there wont be any special cricketers of the likes of Sunil Gavaskar or Kapil Dev or the present " aged seniors" as they refer to them. Cricket is no longer a "game" to be enjoyed, its "entertainment", to be viewed and all the while cheering for your "club". Gone are the days when there used to be unconditional loyalty to the country, at least you never expected someone to come up to you and ask which team you were supporting, as happens in most of the IPL matches!

Foodiebay

Now heres something really interestin (nattu n party listening??), came across this site by some IIT delhi dudes... which is just too good to ignore... i mean this is really so informative and usefull!

FoodieBay.com has a comprehensive listing of over 1200 eating joints, from every nook and cranny to the most recognized addresses in Delhi and NCR. With a click of the mouse, you can choose the locality, your choicest cuisine, read up the menu, calculate the cost, take guidance from user ratings and decide what you want to eat next. More importantly for some, the site also tells you whether the restaurant serves alcohol or not.

its a cool site, do try it.

Update

well, heres an update on my movie spree......
add to the list of seen....
  • A Walk To Remember: a nice movie, kinda make belief.. but i don really know what the hype was for... i mean.. come on.. its like a bollywood romantic tragedy.. and everyone just kept saying its too good too good!! i think a majority of the population like a movie as in accordance to if their peers like it or not.... if they hear it from a couple of people that a particular movie is good, then they see it and like it.. not really knowing if they really enjoyed it!
  • December Boyz: This one was kinda philosophical, pleasantly surprised to see Daniel Radcliffe in the cast. The story revolves around 4 orphan children, a very realistic story. On the whole, a slow but a nice movie.
  • Little Manhattan: i saw this one just last night, this one was really adorable! many a times i found myself laughing and smiling in the dark. really enjoyed it, its kinda cute and childish, yet the theme is mature.
  • Padosan: well most people would have seen this one, hilarious it is... but i was really interested in seeing Kishore Kumar! Loved the songs, which came up ever so often.
  • V for Vendetta: aaah!! this one was touching, rebellious, got the adrenaline pumping! reminded of Zorro at times. V had his side effects for a long time.
well those are all i've seen till yet...still got a whole lot in there pending! Apart from this, i gave up all books that i was reading..namely Shantaram and Atlas Shrugged... and i picked up one of the potters, the last one... and i realised just how much i was out of touch.. can always rely on potter to get u up when feeling low! now, i plan to read the whole lot all over again(for the 10th time i feel)... in the reverse order this time!!!

Finito

I'd mentioned that i'd watch A Walk To Remember last night..... well, i did not.. i was out with some old friends and we had a 'nice' time and then i got to know some stuff that was really shocking...alright.. i came home.. i tried to make some ammends to whatever i'd heard and clarify whatever was up.... well in the end it turned out to be all clarified...clarified as in really clear...all said and done, thats it!! Its the end to everything...all hopes lost..all expectations done in! thats it and i never wanna write about it on this space... there never will be a word about the issue over here! its the final The End!! no more pondering over things or anything! even if there is an opening or somethings do creep up... it'll be me this time who makes sure it does'nt amount to anythin..no hopes or expectations or future thinkings! thats it! Finito! and it really is not that easy as it looks! i'm writing all this while my head is splitting with pain... i have a bad hangover and i cant standup for more than 5 minutes at a stretch!! i've been lying on this bed for the past 12 hours now... i wasnt awake but i did not sleep! i was thinking too much but my mind was idle... its just...it'l take time..but it wont be expressed... it wont show!!!! its finished!
there are problems all around at the moment,... nothing seems to be going right... i dont know wats gonna happen... and i dont wanna think about it!!

Movies all the way

On a movie marathon... well in the past few days i’ve seen an average of 2 movies a day. Juno, The Notebook, Hitch, The Devil Wears Prada, The fountainhead(for the 3rd time), Godfather(for the nth time), Shashawnk Redemption.. and a few more... but last night... i saw Notting Hill, and it was an experience.. i mean the movie is real great, how could a guy after being literally dumped n insulted n humiliated three times say yes again to that girl... well yes he could and i know its possible! Hmmm.. well it really strikes a chord..

The best part are the soundtracks.... “Aint no sunshine when she’s gone.... its not warm when she is away”...... , or maybe... “its amazing how you can speak right to my heart, without saying a word you can light up the dark..... you say it best WHEN YOU SAY NOTHING AT ALL”... but the best one... which i’d heard before but never realised how beautiful it was, the lyrics are enchanting.....its “She” by Elvis Costello.... the lyrics go like...

She may be the face I can't forget

The trace of pleasure or regret

Maybe my treasure or the price I have to pay

She may be the song that summer sings

May be the chill that autumn brings

May be a hundred different things

Within the measure of a day

She may be the beauty or the beast

May be the famine or the feast

May turn each day into a Heaven or a Hell

She may be the mirror of my dreams

A smile reflected in a stream

She may not be what she may seem

Inside her shell....

She, who always seems so happy in a crowd

Whose eyes can be so private and so proud

No one's allowed to see them when they cry

She maybe the love that cannot hope to last

May come to me from shadows in the past

That I remember 'till the day I die

She maybe the reason I survive

The why and wherefore I'm alive

The one I care for through the rough and ready years

Me, I'll take the laughter and her tears

And make them all my souvenirs

For where she goes I've got to be

The meaning of my life is

She....She

Oh, she....

Tonight I’ll watch A walk to remember.. going by what i’ve heard about the movie its quite good and worth a watch. Well lets see how it turns out, meanwhile.... i’m totally bored and pissed off because of no worthwhile reason... part of me wants that college should open up as soon as possible, whereas the other part wants to stay back at home n wish never to return to delhi.... and theres another small portion of my conscious which just wants to go into isolation and have no one but myself.... “i dream of a place where theres no one in sight”......”its the life of solitude i desire, still its loneliness that i fear”..... hmmmm!!
